Volunteer Testimony

I’ve been volunteering with OFNC for a number of years and, honestly, I love it!

I have learned and gained so many more skills than I thought I would. Skills ranging from public speaking to administration, to communicating with young and older people and learning to enjoy serving others.

I have made so many great friends through volunteering and I can honestly say that it is a good way to meet new people from all walks of life; to learn from those a few steps ahead of you and lead people who are a few steps behind.

If you have a pulse, and a servant heart you will make a great volunteer!

The great thing about volunteering is that as well as learning new skills, you can use your already developed skills and talents to serve others. All skills are helpful whether you are a great listener, a great organiser, or you just love hanging out and gathering people; all gifts are needed and valued by us and certainly by our Lord Jesus!

So get involved is all I can say and just to reiterate: if you have a pulse, and a servant heart you will make a great volunteer!

Furthermore a lot of the skills that I have gained through volunteering have been transferred into my professional and personal life which is why I am very thankful to OFNC and it has also looked great and has been a great addition to my CV when applying for jobs! So it’s a win-win situation!

Interested in how you can serve? Then fill out the “Contact Us” form and one of our Branch Secretaries will be in touch with you soon.
